YANKEE DENTAL 2024 AWARD WINNERS

ARMEN NALBAND AWARD

Tevy J. Dines, DMD 

Dr. Tevy Dines is a Harvard School of Dental Medicine graduate where he received his MMSc Degree in Oral Biology with a certificate in Endodontics in 1999. Dr. Dines started his own practice in 2008, where he still works today. He has also been a Clinical Endodontic Instructor since 1999 at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. 
Dr. Dines has been an active member of the MDS and Yankee Dental since 2000 when he volunteered for the first time. Since then, he has been a part of the Program, Core, Hospitality and Oversight Committees as well as helping with the Endodontics Symposium at Yankee Dental Congress. He has also been a critical member for the American Association of Endodontics. 


CLINICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Brian B. Novy, DDS

Dr. Brian Novy started his dental career in California, where he graduated from Loma Linda University of Dentistry with honors in 2006. Dr. Novy worked as a dentist while also teaching at LLU School of Dentistry. In 2013, Dr. Novy moved to Massachusetts where he worked as a Director of Practice improvement. In 2017 he started as a clinical assistant professor at Harvard and Western University, where he still teaches today. 
Dr. Novy has been an MDS Member since 2014 and has worked to create numerous publications, research, and grants. He has been a celebrated speaker at Yankee Dental Congress for many years. 


HYGIENIST OF THE YEAR AWARD

Julie L. Cady, RDH

Julie Cady is a full time registered Dental Hygienist that works in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. She graduated from Quinsigamond College with her associate degree in Allied Dental Health Service in 2016, and then earned her associate degree in dental hygiene in 2018. Julie has been involved in the ADHA/MDHA since 2018 and continues to be an asset to members and the MDHA.


JOHN GOLDEN AWARD

Cherie Cahillane Bishop, DMD

Dr. Cherie Cahillane Bishop graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1994. Since 1995, she has been a part of multiple memberships societies including American Association of Women Dentists, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the ADA. She has also been appointed to many boards, including the Massachusetts Dental Society in 2008. This year, Dr. Bishop is serving as the general chair for the Yankee Dental Congress Core Committee.

Cathy Gusha

Cathy Gusha has volunteered in numerous roles at Yankee including registration and hospitality.  


ELIZABETH A. BAER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Danielle Carp, CDA

Danielle Carp is a highly skilled dental assistant with a passion for promoting oral health and helping patients achieve confident smiles. With a strong dedication to patient care and safety, She effectively assist dentists in providing accurate and meticulous treatments, while continuously learning and staying up to date with the latest advancements in dental assisting through active involvement in professional associations.
Danielle received her certification in Dental Assisting in 2010 and has been working towards a Master of the ADAA.


VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Rhonda Heard, CDA

Rhonda Heard is a Certified Dental Assistant that has gone above and beyond in her volunteer roles at Yankee Dental Congress. She first began volunteering in 2003 and has filled the role of presiding chair and room coordinator ever since.

 

JAMES W. ETHERINGTON AWARD

Martin Nager, DMD

Dr. Martin Nager is a Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry graduate where he received his doctorate in 1985, and then his degree in CAGS-Periodontology in 1987. Dr. Nager has received multiple awards since 1985, including awards for excellence and alumni service awards. 

Since graduating in 1985. Dr. Nager has been involved in various volunteer roles in societies and associations, including the Rhode Island Dental Association. He has volunteered as a Dentist for homeless organizations, clinics, and various missions. He has taught numerous lectures over New England and has been published six times. Dr. Nager currently lives in Rhode Island.
