Alan Atlas, DMD is a clinical professor in the department of preventive and restorative sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He maintains a private practice located in Philadelphia, PA.

Technique errors, incorrect material selection/placement and poor patient compliance will expedite failure of posterior composite restorations. This course will provide a current scientific update about what modifications are needed in private practice to improve skill, efficiency and outcomes in the Class 2 Posterior composite workflow. Step-by-step novel protocols for preparation, placement and finishing to achieve better margins, contacts and reduce post-operative problems will be demonstrated with video provided by dental microscope HD video.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Review the scientific evidence about how, when, and why adhesively placed posterior composites fail 
  • Utilize simplified and innovative clinical protocols from preparing, to finishing, to optimizing restorative outcomes and reduce patient "issues"
