Lois Duerst, DDS is currently Staff Dentist for the 3M Oral Care Solutions Division. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she also completed a two-year post doctorate residency. She maintained a private practice, with an emphasis on esthetic dentistry, in the St. Paul, MN area prior to joining 3M. Dr Duerst is an advocate of lifelong learning, receiving her Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, and continues to be active in her local Spear Study Club.

Anterior composite esthetic cases can be a very rewarding and enjoyable part of a dental practice. Compared to porcelain veneers, they can be more affordable for the patients and can be an esthetic, long lasting and conservative option. However, these treatments can also be time consuming, difficult, and unpredictable leading many dentists to avoid these type of procedures altogether. In this course, you will learn about a new digital workflow resulting in a custom matrix that reliably allows dentists to deliver esthetic, predictable and efficient anterior composite restorations for patients.

In this course attendees will:
  • Introduce a new digital solution for esthetic direct composite dentistry, including veneers and diastemas
  • Discuss the advantages of using a 3D printed custom matrix for placement of anterior composites
  • Describe the digital and clinical workflows, and how to select cases when using this new custom matrix
  • Understand how to achieve esthetic outcomes with the matrix by doing a hands-on anterior composite esthetic case
Recommended Audience: Dentist, Technician
