This course will provide attendees with an overview of how to improve and/or troubleshoot failed or inadequate local anesthesia. A review of the anatomy on a skull, injection techniques via videos, the local anesthetic drugs and recent advances in local anesthesia will also be covered to help improve local anesthesia outcomes for you and your patient.
Attendees will demonstrate on a skull, proper angle and needle placement for various nerve block injections, perform a proper aspiration technique, and practice a safe rate of deposit of the local anesthetic.
Speakers
In this course attendees will:
- Identify critical anatomical landmarks for various maxillary and mandibular nerve block injections
- Demonstrate proper needle placement on a skull for various nerve block injections
- Compare and contrast the different local anesthetic drugs to formulate a safe treatment plan
- Assess causes for inadequate local anesthesia and make recommendations for improvement
- Implement strategies to troubleshoot inadequate or absence of local anesthesia
- Discover the most recent advances in pain control
- Demonstrate on a skull proper angle and needle placement for various nerve block injections
- Practice a safe rate of deposit of the local anesthetic
- Perform proper aspiration techniques
