Gingival recessions are often underdiagnosed until patients present with sensitivity or esthetic concerns. Frequently clinicians are faced with questions such as -should all recessions be treated, what is the etiology for recessions and what options exist for management of gingival recessions. This course focuses on answering these questions with the use of case-based scenarios.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Identify the different types of gingival recessions
  • Explain the primary etiology and secondary contributing factors for recessions

  • Understand the maintenance and management strategies for teeth with recessions
  • Describe short and long-term prognosis of treated and untreated recession sites
