Ben Larkin, JD is a graduate of Dartmouth College. He holds a graduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and his law degree from George Washington University. Over the last 22 years, he has worked in over 400 dental practice transitions, primarily in New England, either as an attorney, broker or consultant. He has been attending the Yankee Dental Congress for over 20 years.

This course will address the varied practice transition options currently available to potential practice sellers and practice buyers. We will also address where we see practice transitions heading in the future. The practice transition market has evolved significantly in the last several years, and continues to feel the effects of COVID, the many active multi-practice owners and DSOs who are seeking practices, and the economy in general, including, of course, recently rising interest rates. Learn about who is buying practices, how practices are valued and valuation lingo, how practices are paid for, timing considerations, tax implications and how to assemble your transition team.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Discuss factors should be considered in deciding when to sell - or buy - a practice?
  • Understand how are practices valued by traditional buyers, multi-practice owners and DSOs?
  • List which professionals a practice seller and practice purchaser have on their respective teams
