Kathy Eklund, RDH is the director of occupational health and safety at The Forsyth Institute and adjunct assistant professor/ faculty member at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Mount Ida College School of Dental Hygiene. She is also the author of the CDC guidelines for Infection Control in Dentistry and chair elect of OSAP.

This course will review the current CDC infection prevention & control guidance and the CDC Core Practices that apply to dental healthcare settings. Relevant OSHA standards will be reviewed. Strategies and resources for implementing current guidance and evaluating compliance will be described.

After this course attendees will be able to:

  • Differentiate CDC guidance and OSHA regulations
  • Identify strategies and resources for implementation & evaluation
