Access to dental care can provide challenges for many patients, particularly for those in dental health care provider shortage areas (HSPAs). Utilizing telehealth modalities or portable/mobile dental care can provide greater access for patients in dental HSPAs.

This session will include presentations from two Massachusetts community health center site teams who are implementing portable/mobile dental care and teledental programming in dental HSPAs. Site teams will discuss the application of portable/mobile care and teledental in the community health center setting, describe the implementation of workflows, and discuss best practices and lessons learned.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Discuss the application of portable care and teledentistry in a community health center setting
  • Explain how portable care and teledentistry can help community health centers expand access to different patient populations
  • Describe best practices to create a portable or teledental program in a community health center
