Christina DiBona Pastan, DMD is an assistant clinical professor in the department of endodontics and the director of Mind-Body Wellness at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She also maintains a private practice in Salem, MA.

The practice of yoga was created over 5,000 years ago as a physical practice to help us navigate life, and today it's physical and therapeutic benefits are grounded in evidence-based research. This course will provide attendees with an understanding of how yoga in the roots of its ancient context can benefit the dental health care providers physically, mentally and spiritually and ultimately affect the quality of care they deliver to their patients. Attendees will experience yoga in their chairs and learn how the health benefits of yoga can be accessed simply in any chair, anywhere.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Outline and demystify the practice of yoga
  • Learn the evidence-based science and physical benefits of yoga
  • Recognize modern applications of an ancient philosophy and practice
  • Interpret how yoga benefits dental professionals.
  • Identify mind-body self-care strategies
  • Discover chair yoga as an accessible and beneficial yoga practice for dentists
  • Practice ways to incorporate chair yoga into your day
Recommended Audience: Assistant, Dentist, Hygienist, Office, Technician
