has been a practicing RDH in periodontal offices, as well as general and pediatric offices. She started noticing the correlation (at times) between erosion, behaviour as well as airway and sleep issues along with jaw joint pain on many of her patients. She wanted to make a difference and
started taking courses on airway screening and management as well as orofacial myofunctional therapy. She started working towards her masters in Sleep Medicine at the University of Oxford.
She is now a board-certified Orofacial Myologist who specializes in habit elimination, improper oral resting postures, TMD and Sleep Disordered Breathing/Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
She is an avid world traveler, Master Scuba Diver Trainer for PADI, Outdoor Emergency Care instructor, Outdoor Emergency Transportation instructor for National Ski Patrol as well as an Assistant Region Director for Western Massachusetts for National Ski Patrol, retired rock climbing instructor as well as retired team leader for Berkshire Mountain Search and Rescue.
She is an avid cyclist, paddler and hiker. She has participated many years in the Josh Billings Run-a-ground triathlon, also as an Iron woman.
