Mikaela Brock earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Biomedical Sciences. She went on to attend Harvard School of Dental Medicine for her DMD degree, graduating with honors in clinic and being awarded the Leo Talkov Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. She furthered her dental training in the GPR at the Boston VA, working with our nation’s veterans and receiving more in depth training in all aspects of general dentistry. During her time in residency, she and her co-resident Dr. Gauch worked with the infectious disease team, which inspired this presentation to bring awareness of antibiotic stewardship and collaboration between dentists and our patients’ medical care teams.
