is the Senior Director of Government Affairs and Health Policy for The Arc Massachusetts. She is also the Director of Operation House Call (OHC), a training program and partnership between The Arc and all Massachusetts Medical Schools. Maura teaches hundreds of medical students with her team, each year, as well as a range of other healthcare professionals, including dental students and graduate nursing students.
Maura’s state advocacy work includes passing healthcare legislation as well as bills such as Nicky’s Law (Abuser Registry) and Mandated Police Training in Autism. Her efforts are focused on disability policy and increasing the state budget for people with disabilities. She is a national public speaker on health equity and sits on several state and national healthcare advisory boards. Maura is a former LEND (Leadership, Education in Neurodevelopmental disorders) Fellow with a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University. Maura is also the mother of three; her two sons are transition age (young adults) and have profound autism and intellectual disabilities, as well as co-occurring medical conditions.
