Dr. Joy D. Void-Holmes has nearly 30 years of experience in oral care. She empowers audiences through education on self-care and boundaries, covering topics such as instrumentation, infection control, cultural diversity, and implicit bias. As the founder of Dr. Joy, RDH, she advances dental hygiene through education, research, and product testing.
She co-founded JELL-ED, created the Dental Hygiene Student Planner™, and is a skilled technical writer. Dr. Joy serves on the CDCA-WREB-CITA examination board, the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners,the editorial advisory board for Inside Dental Hygiene, and advisory board for RDH Magazine. She is a member of numerous professional organizations.
Dr. Joy holds a dental hygiene certificate from Howard University, a B.S. from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, along with a Masters and Doctorate of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University.
