YANKEE DENTAL PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS

JOHN GOLDEN AWARD

This award was established to recognize volunteers who may already have served in several Core Committee Chair positions, including General Chair, and who continue to return to the Yankee Dental Congress each year to help on a significant level and display long-term loyalty to the quality of Yankee.

ARMEN NALBAND AWARD

This award recognizes the Yankee Dental Congress volunteers who devote a significant amount of time to Yankee with minimal formal recognition. Must have played an active role in Yankee for at least five years. Must not have served in a position higher than Core Committee Chair.

VIVIAN CHAPUT VOLUNTEER AWARD

The recipient of this award will be any Yankee Dental Congress volunteer who is a spouse, partner, or guest. Recipient must have volunteered a significant amount of time to Yankee consistently for a minimum of 5 years and received minimal formal recognition for that effort. Nominations will be made by the Yankee Oversight Committee. Recipient will be approved by the Board of Trustees and the award will be presented at the Presidential Awards Ceremony during Yankee. This award does not have to be given every year.

CLINICIANS AWARD

The clinician who receives this award must be an American Dental Association (ADA) member and be supportive of the Yankee Dental Congress as a volunteer. The clinician must have spoken five or more years at Yankee without honoraria or sponsorship. Nominations will come from the Yankee Oversight Committee. Final selection will be made by the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) Board of Trustees and the award is to be given at the Presidential Awards Ceremony during Yankee. The prize is a $1,000 scholarship in the clinician’s name to the dental school of their choice. The recipient may not be currently serving on the Core Committee. This award does not have to be given every year.

HYGIENIST OF THE YEAR

This award is given to a registered dental hygienist (RDH) that the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists' Association (MDHA) votes on for outstanding service to their profession throughout the year. 

VOLUNTEER AWARD FOR AUXILIARIES (2005)

The recipient of this award will be any Yankee volunteer who is an assistant, hygienist, office personnel, or lab technician. The recipient must have volunteered a significant amount of time to Yankee consistently for a minimum of five years and received minimal formal recognition for that effort. Nominations will be made by the Yankee Oversight Committee. The recipient will be approved by the Board of Trustees. This award does not have to be given every year.

THE ELIZABETH A. BAER AWARD

The Elizabeth Ann Baer Dental Assistant Award will be presented yearly to a dental assistant who has contributed significantly to both the Massachusetts Dental Assistants Association (MDAA) and the Massachusetts Dental Society. To be eligible for this award, the assistant must have a minimum of 10 years of cumulative membership in the MDAA and ten cumulative years of practice as a dental assistant in the dental profession.
