Lecture

Implants are not the panacea they were once marketed as. It is important for patients to understand their role in implant maintenance and what site, systemic, environmental, and/or esthetic risk factors may predispose them to complications from the start. Providing patients with a comprehensive roadmap of the surgical and restorative workflows of their implant treatment will result in lasting cosmetic and functional outcomes free of surprises and limited in complications.

Speakers

After this course attendees will be able to:

  • Diagnose peri-implant conditions using the new classification system
  • Describe the emerging etiologies for peri-implant disease
  • Identify site, patient, and esthetic-related risk factor for peri-implant complications
  • Maintain dental implants, using appropriate instruments, powders, accessories, and hygiene regimens
  • Manage and avoid a variety of problems in implant surgery
  • Navigate challenges in implant prosthetics as they arise
