Compliance plays a vital role in dental practice management, encompassing the legal and ethical obligations, regulatory requirements, and best practices that ensure patient safety, data security, and the overall success of a dental practice. Adhering to compliance standards not only upholds the highest standards of professionalism but also helps build trust with patients and minimizes the risk of legal and financial repercussions. 

This course is dedicated to the compliance of coding, documentation, what is important for you to have for every patient charting, billing, and understanding of the changes that are happening and applying them to your practice. Part of the training is to understand what documentation the insurance companies require to what you provide for all treatments, plus how codes must match the documentation.

This course will provide attendees with communication tips for the entire team, chart entries we must be including, how to correct errors within the chart, medication lists, updated dental medical history, medical information when needed by the patient's provider, and yes even the telephone calls must have documentation.

  • Understand how to complete proper documentation for all aspects of the practice
  • Review billing and coding regulations regarding documentation
  • Learn ethical standards such as obtaining informed consent, informed refusal, and other forms including a dental medical form, medication lists, and many other forms that may be required
  • Discuss how dental practices must also meet licensing requirements, stay updated on industry regulations, and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential liabilities
  • Identify what needs to happen daily for you to maintain compliance
  • Implement various strategies to insure compliance is part of the day-to-day operations
