Treating medically compromised older adults in the dental office is becoming more commonplace now than ever before. Whether you are a general dentist, prosthodontist, periodontist or practicing any specialty with probably the exception of pediatrics, you are most likely already treating a growing patient population of older adults in your practice. This patient population has very unique needs and concerns with regard to their healthcare. An in-depth understanding of the ethical issues that can commonly arise while treating these patients is crucial. This course will tackle the basics of the ethical and legal concerns while presenting data and tips to avoid common errors in practice and focus on enhancing patient care.
