In this course the instructor will review research that validates the link between oral health and arterial health. Special focus will be focused on arterial disease, arterial inflammation, and oral health. Overall risk factors and women’s health will be discussed with intent to apply this method to dental practice.

After this course attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize the role of arterial disease to overall health
  • List the root causes of arterial disease – both micro and macrovascular disease
  • Understand the importance of identifying the role of high-risk periodontal pathogens and the importance of clinical laboratory testing in dentistry
  • Review the case application of optimal dental-medical collaboration in high-risk CV disease patients – both periodontal pathogens and endodontic lesions
  • Network with your medical community to establish collaborative oral-systemic care
  • Get your entire team on board to establish your dental practice as one that optimizes overall health
