CE Hours
Medical emergencies occurring in the dental office are stressful and frightening not only for the patient, but also the dentist and dental team. However, successfully managing a medical emergency is significantly different than merely “knowing about” medical emergencies. This course is presented in a Socratic style providing attendees the opportunity actually practice responding to lifelike situations. Although the course is ideal for dentists to enroll with their entire staff, individual dentists are also invited to attend.
Speakers
In this course attendees will:
- Identify the six areas in which all dental offices need to be prepared for a medical crisis
- Optimize the use of the entire dental team during a medical emergency
- Practice applying a nasal cannula, learn to load a medical syringe and properly administer it, and insert a supraglottic airway into a mannequin
- Rehearse responding as a dental team to lifelike medical events that can reasonably occur during dental care
Offices are encouraged to attend as a dental team, however, individual attendees will be grouped together.
